A virus attack has been reported on jail broken iPhones which is spreading fast. The attack which started in Australia has a self propagating virus that changes the iPhone's wallpaper to a picture of 80s singer Rick Astley with the message "ikee is never going to give you up". Apple only allows users to install applications approved by it and sold through its iTunes store. However, users can bypass this restriction using a hack called “jail breaking,” which allows them to install applications not approved by Apple, and developed by third party developers. The virus is only known to affect “jail broken” iPhone devices with the application SSH installed. SSH enables other devices to connect to the iPhone and modify its system and files. Although, the virus is not harmful, but experts are warning that more harmful variants of the virus can follow. They also recommend that if you have a jail-broken iPhone with SSH installed, then you should change your root user password to something different than the default ‘alpine.’
